About this book series

This series brings together Latin American and the Caribbean perspectives on international educational debates. Latin America and the Caribbean have rich and complex educational experiences with important debates worth examining as a contribution to the larger educational community. With the interest of speaking to and addressing the deficit-based approaches often employed in the field of educational development and comparative education in Latin America, the series will prioritize the wealth of Latin American scholars voices and the spaces of resistance where local initiatives meet the demands imposed by an ever globalizing world. The histories of education within Latin America and the Caribbean is cause for an apt and relevant undertaking to understand how the Latin American region is responding and contributing to global policy reform and curricular transformations in times of heightened awareness of globalization, anti-blackness, indigenous resistance, migrations, LGBTQI mobilizations, emerging cultures, and youth
social movements. Thus, this series looks to advance the work of Latin American scholars in order to put forward the interdisciplinary and contemporary knowledge production of the region.
