Aims and scope
Dysphagia is a multidisciplinary peer reviewed journal devoted to swallowing and its disorders and dedicated to advancing the art and science of Deglutology. It serves as an international source of information for physicians and other health professionals interested in this field. It draws on expertise from disciplines such as gastroenterology, neurology, otolaryngology, radiology, dentistry, rehabilitation medicine, speech language pathology, nursing, dietetics, medical administration, informatics, data science and the basic biomedical sciences.
Dysphagia aims to:
● Advance the understanding of normal swallowing, as well as the diagnosis and clinical management of dysphagia.
● Stimulate further research in the field.
● Provide a platform for the dissemination of research and knowledge related to normal swallowing and dysphagia.
● Foster communication and collaboration among professionals from various disciplines involved in the study and management of swallowing disorders.
The journal encourages submissions that advance the understanding of normal swallowing and dysphagia, including their diagnosis and clinical management including all aspects of normal and dysphagic ingestion involving:
- central and peripheral nervous system
- muscular system
- mouth
- pharynx
- esophagus
- upper and lower esophageal sphincters
The journal publishes Research and Review articles, Comments, Clinical Conundrum article types and Letters to the Editor.
Dysphagia's goal is to provide expeditious review of submitted manuscripts and prompt notification of the authors.
