Aims and scope

The journal welcomes original research contributions across a wide range of aspects related to mammalian biology, including but not limited to: anatomy and morphology; paleontology, taxonomy and systematics; molecular biology and genetics; physiology and neurobiology; ethology; reproduction; evolutionary biology; domestication; ecology; wildlife biology and diseases; conservation biology, and the biology of zoo animals. 

Investigations that utilize mammals merely as models or emphasize experimental or veterinary aspects are of interest only if they hold substantial relevance to the broader field of mammalogy.

The journal publishes Original articles, Methods articles, Short communications and Reviews. Other categories such as Point of view, Perspective, etc. are expected to be discussed with the Editor-in-Chief prior to submission.
