Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery is proud to present an upcoming thematic issue, entitled:
Innovative biorefinery solutions for products and energy – Status 2024

This special issue aims to address emerging research and developments in the interdisciplinary field of biomass-based options for energy and environment, focusing on key sub-topics such as organic waste treatment, modeling, and optimization of biorefinery concepts as well as biomass-derived products for sustainable development. The urgency of addressing contemporary challenges in these fields is paramount due to the rapidly evolving industrial landscape and the growing emphasis on sustainability. The goal is to examine present advancements and offer solutions based in these domains, while providing a fresh perspective and enriching the existing knowledge base.
This issue is looking for original research papers with novel findings and new results meetings the highest scientific standards in the research field outlined above. Research papers presented at the 1st International Conference on Trends in Chemical, Energy and Environmental Engineering (ChemEEE-2024) are welcome. Review papers are typically rejected. They are only exceptionally accepted if they are tackling a clearly new question and / or providing new and in-depth insights into a specific topic. Papers must be submitted electronically via

All manuscripts submitted to this thematic issue will go through a stringent peer review process managed by the editorial staff of the journal, and only those that are accepted after peer review will be published.
