This special issue aims to be a comprehensive exploration of the diverse facets of agro waste valorisation. From innovative technologies that harness the potential of waste streams to circular bioeconomy strategies that redefine resource utilization, the issue will showcase the evolving landscape of sustainable practices. Furthermore, the exploration of bio-based products, bioprocessing techniques, and the role of microbial contributions in waste upcycling will underscore the potential for transformative change within various industries.

The focus of this thematic issue is on original research papers with novel findings and new results meetings the highest scientific standards in the research field outlined above. Review papers are typically rejected. They are only exceptionally accepted if they are tackling a clearly new question and / or providing new and in-depth insights into a specific topic.
