Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics - Important Submission Policy

Given a large influx of submissions to Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, alongside the extensive wave of fraudulent submissions of papers from paper mills currently plaguing the scientific community, including fake data from external service laboratories, Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics will be implementing the below procedures for all submitted manuscripts. In the case of an inexplicable lack of adherence to any of these conditions, we reserve the right to withdrawing or rejecting your paper, even without going to peer review:

  • Request of institutional email addresses. At the minimum, at least the corresponding author should provide an institutional email address. Please do not submit papers with “@123.com” e-mail addresses, for example.
  • Papers should provide access to, or provide sufficient links to, relevant raw data for experiments. In the case that authors have not provided this information, or otherwise do not provide this when requested within good time, papers will be withdrawn from the system without warning.
  •  Authors must include the following statement in the section Authors Contributions: “The authors declare that all data were generated in-house and that no paper mill was used.”
  • Papers focussing on alternative or traditional medicine will not be accepted, and routinely rejected.
  • To avoid fake reviews, please suggest only referees with institutional email addresses. Referees must be from different institutions than the corresponding author. Referee suggestions must be accompanied by a description of their expertise. Otherwise, referee suggestions will be disregarded.

These measures are meant to protect the scientific integrity of your work and the scientific integrity of our journal.
