Journal of Educational Change - Call for Special Issue Article Abstracts: Using Synchronization Theory to Understand Educational Change

Guest Editor
Olga Fellus, Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education, Brock University, Canada

About the Special Issue
This special issue is about multidirectional, dynamic education system change and is designed to offer theoretical underpinnings, illustrative policies and practices, and tangible strategies on how systems can evolve to support all learners. Some of the questions we tackle in this special issue are: How do current theories help to expand our perception of educational change, and where do their limitations constrain our discerning of how to lead change, particularly in the present, post-pandemic environment? How do the noted theories benefit from the overarching linkage to synchronization? What other modes of organization are to be expected when synchronization breaks down? How does synchronization play a role in scaling up reforms across a school district or a state? In this special issue, we hope to trigger deeper explorations of the intricacies of synchronization and its impact on educational change processes and outcomes.
