Multiscale and Multidisciplinary Modeling, Experiments and Design - Guidelines for Special Issue/Article Collection Proposals

Multiscale and Multidisciplinary Modeling, Experiments and Design publishes original peer-reviewed scholarly research spanning engineering and physical science disciplines as applied to multiscale, multidisciplinary and multi-science problems.

We welcome Special Issues/Article Collections proposals that meet our current guidelines:

  • Special Issues/Article Collections originating from conferences or workshops organized around specific themes.
  • Special Issues/Article Collections proposed by members of the Editorial Board or individuals within their networks.
  • Special Issues/Article Collections commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors.

We offer the opportunity for motivated researchers to organize a Special Issue/Article Collection in our journal. If you wish to propose a Special Issue, please provide the information outlined below. The proposal should be submitted to Young W. Kwon, Editor-in-Chief, via ywkwon[at]nps.edu.

Please note that all Guest Editors must be copied on your email using their institutional email addresses.

We will reply to all proposals, but not all proposals will be taken forward. Where we see potential in a proposal, the Editor-in-Chief will work with the Guest Editors to develop the proposal before making a final decision on taking the proposed issue forward.

Please use this file (this opens in a new tab) to prepare your proposal.

The file includes essential information that must accompany your proposal, which includes, but is not limited to:

EDITORIAL PROCEDURE

For all submissions, this Journal adheres to the standard Peer Review Policy, Process and Guidance (this opens in a new tab) as outlined by Springer under Editorial Policies (this opens in a new tab) in the Information for Journal Authors (this opens in a new tab) web page.

All submissions to Springer journals are first reviewed for completeness and only then sent to be assessed by an Editor who will decide whether they are suitable for peer review. Where an Editor is on the author list or has any other competing interest regarding a specific manuscript, another member of the Editorial Board will be assigned to oversee peer review. Editors will consider the peer-reviewed reports when making a decision, but they are not bound by the opinions or recommendations therein. A concern raised by a single peer reviewer or the Editor themself may result in the manuscript being rejected. Authors receive peer review reports with the editorial decision on their manuscript.
