Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft - Call for Proposals: ZPol Special Issues 2025

Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft (ZPol)/ (Journal of Political Science) is the academic journal covering all approaches, directions, sub-disciplines and fields of Political Science. Each of the four annual issues places the basics, theory and current practice as well as the critical discussion of scholarly contributions at the forefront of its academic discourse.

The editorial board of ZPol invites you to submit proposals for a Special Issue! The topic of the Special Issue should be innovative as well as of general interest for the political science community and ideally addresses a broad spectrum of researchers. It is possible to publish the Special Issue in German as well as in English language.

As guest editor(s) you will be responsible for the compilation and arrangement of contributions. A ZPol Special Issue should consist of approximately 10-14 double blind peer-reviewed articles by different authors in accordance with ZPol submission guidelines. Furthermore, the Special Issues contain an introduction and possibly also a conclusion written by the guest editor(s).

Interested researchers submit their Special Issue proposal to the Managing Editor of ZPol, Karsten Schäfer M.A., (schaefer.k@rptu.de) by February 15, 2024.

Your proposal should include

  • A concept paper of 3-5 pages, which explains the planned content and the relevance of the proposed topic for the research debate
  • A list of the suggested articles and authors and their institutional affiliation
  • A clear schedule, which includes a deadline for the completion of the Special Issue
