About the editors
Dr. Vidya Shetty K. is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka. She has authored more than 40 research publications and her area of research includes application of Chemical Engineering in the field of wastewater treatment, bioremediation, bioleaching, environmental biotechnology, bioreactors, chemical and biological synthesis of nanostructures and nano photocatalysis. Her research interests also lies in theoretical and artificial neural-network-based modelling and simulation of chemical engineering systems.
Dr. Murugesan Thanabalan is a Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He has published more than 175 articles in international journals apart from many in conference proceedings. His research expertise include ionic liquids/deep eutectic solvents for chemical engineering applications; new solvents/ functionalized clay-based adsorbents/ mixed matrix membranes for CO2 capture; green approaches to the utilization of biomass; biodegradation/ application of CNTs/ advanced oxidation processes for water treatment; aqueous two-phase extraction of biomolecules, microwave drying of non-conductive materials; hydrodynamics and mass transfer operations involving two-phase (Gas–Liquid, Liquid– Solid) and three-phase (Gas–Solid–Liquid) systems in mechanically agitated contactors and design and development of equipment for the liquid–liquid extraction of value-added products.
