About this book

This book presents articles from the International Conference on Modelling, Simulation and Intelligent Computing (MoSICom 2020), held at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Dubai Campus, Dubai, UAE, in January 2020. Modelling and simulation are becoming increasingly important in a wide variety of fields, from Signal, Image and Speech Processing, and Microelectronic Devices and Circuits to Intelligent Techniques, Control and Energy Systems, and Power Electronics. Further, Intelligent Computational techniques are gaining significance in interdisciplinary engineering applications, such as Robotics and Automation, Healthcare Technologies, IoT and its Applications. Featuring the latest advances in the field of engineering applications, this book serves as a definitive reference resource for researchers, professors and practitioners interested in exploring advanced techniques in the field of modelling, simulation and computing.

About the authors

About the author text:

Nilesh Goel was born in India, in 1983. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Motilal Nehru NIT Allahabad, India, in 2007. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay (IIT Bombay), India, in 2015. In 2007, he joined ST Microelectronics as Design Engineer, where he worked in design and development of highspeed digital protocol (HDMI). After his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, he joined SanDisk as Staff Device Engineer in 2015. At SanDisk, his primary job is to characterization and do failure analysis for NAND flash memory and qualify NAND flash for various reliability issues like program disturb, read disturb and data retention for SLC, MLC and TLC (2D and 3D NAND). He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus from July 2017.

Dr. Goel has over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and highly reputed international conferences. He had also authored/co-authored 5 book chapters in Springer series. He is Reviewer of several international journals. His current research interest is semiconductor device reliability with focus on reliability aware circuit design.

Shazia Hasan was born in India, in 1980. She received her bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from UCE, Burla, India, in 2002 and Ph.D. in Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, India, in 2012. She served as a Lecturer in Silicon Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India, from 2003 to 2010. Then, she served at ITER, Bhubaneswar as an Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2015. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus from 2015. Dr. Shazia Hasan won ‘Young Scientist Award’ from VIFRA in 2015. She is the author of several papers in peer-reviewed international/national journals and international/national conferences. She also served as a Reviewer of international journals. She organized several conference/seminars/workshops in the past. Her research interest includes digital signal processing, biomedical signal processing, and statistical filter design.
