The focus of this collection of illustrated reviews is to discuss the systems biology of free radicals and anti-oxidants. Free radical induced cellular damage in a variety of tissues and organs is reviewed, with detailed discussion of molecular and cellular mechanisms. - About the authors

Ismail (Issy) Laher, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver,Canada. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Vermont, USA. Trained at the University of London in pharmacology, he then continued with additional training in cardiovascular pharmacology at UBC and UVM, with a focus on the regulation of resistance artery regulation in health and disease.
