About this book
This book describes the pathoanatomical, pathophysiological, and imaging features of vascular malformations and aneurysms of the brain and the modern, minimally invasive endovascular methods and techniques employed in their treatment. Individual chapters are devoted to developmental venous malformations, cavernomas and capillary telangiectasias, pial arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous malformations, and intracranial aneurysms. Each chapter is subdivided into four principal sections on pathology, clinical presentation, diagnostic imaging, and therapy, ensuring a standardized approach throughout. All chapters in this 2nd revised edition of Intracranial Vascular Malformations and Aneurysms have been thoroughly updated. The book is richly illustrated with numerous informative CT, MR and DSA images, including high-end 7-Tesla MR images.
Reviews
From the reviews of the second edition:
"This book succinctly describes in five chapters the anatomical, pathological and imaging features of cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations (AVMs). … Each chapter is well illustrated with high quality CT, MR and DSA images. … Intracranial Vascular Malformations and Aneurysms is also an excellent starting point for those learning the craft and will undoubtedly be welcomed into departmental libraries and onto individual bookshelves." (Graham Cherryman, RAD Magazine, January, 2009)
"This book is primarily directed to neuroradiologically interested colleagues and consists of … chapters dealing with intracranial vascular malformations and aneurysms. … Overall, the present book contains a very nice summary of neurosurgically relevant neurovascular topics and highly recommendable illustrations. … we recommend keeping this book in the book shelf for any neurovascular neurosurgeon in order to furthermore support the interdisciplinary treatment strategies that are definitely of advantage for our patients." (Ulrich Sure and Erol I. Sandalcioglu, Neurosurgical Review, Vol. 32, 2009)
“The book gives comprehensive but concise descriptions of the commonly encountered intracranial vascular pathologies that form the vast majority of the work of most interventional neuroradiologists. … The text in all the chapters is thoroughly referenced, which is clearly valuable. … most suited to neuroradiologists, but also to other neurosciences professionals involved in the care of patients with intracranial vascular malformations and aneurysms. I would recommend the text particularly to those training in radiology who are considering a career in interventional neuroradiology … .” (Sarah Christine Jenkins, Neuroradiology, Vol. 51, 2009)
