This atlas describes and illustrates lymph nodes under normal conditions and in reactive states. It contains images showing the results achieved with various methods of investigation, including cytology in imprints and sections, histology, enzyme and immunohistochemistry and electron  microscopy. Examples of virtually all kinds of lymphadenitis are illustrated, e.g. tuberculous and tuberculoid lymphadenitis, toxoplasmotic, viral, necrotic, haemophagocytic, mesenteric and cat scratch lymphadenitis as well as lymph node involvement in AIDS, systemic lupus erythematosus and tropical diseases.Curves for age distribution  are included, as are tables containing information that is relevant to the diagnosis and differential diagnosis (e.g. clinical data.
