About this book

This book covers recent advances in the use of electrostimulation therapies in movement disorders, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, memory and cognition, disorders of consciousness, foot drop, dysphagia, brain injury, headache, heart failure, hearing loss, and rheumatoid arthritis. It describes techniques such as vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and electrical stimulation of the pharyngeal nerve.

Electroceuticals: Advances in Electrostimulation Therapies is aimed at clinicians and basic researchers in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology and rheumatology.

Reviews

“This is an excellent text about neurostimulations for various brain states and systemic pain related disorders. … This is an excellent book for neurosurgeons, neurologists, psychiatrists, and physiotherapists.” (Joseph Grenier, Amazon.de, March, 2018)

“This is an enjoyable book that captures the full bench‐to‐bedside story for vagal nerve and other electrical stimulation applications. … Given the extremely rapid pace of development in this field, even if some of the pilot trial results become obsolete, these anatomical and physiology reviews will continue to offer a useful starting point for clinicians and scientists. As a neuroscientist‐neurologist, I anticipate referring to it frequently.” (Mijail Serruya, Doody's Book Reviews, October, 2017)
