This book describes nitric oxide (NO) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) functions in higher plants. NO and H2O2 are both crucial regulators of development, and act as signaling molecules at each step of the plant lifecycle, while also playing important roles in biotic and abiotic responses to environmental cues.

The book summarizes key advances in the field of NO and H2O2 research, focusing on a range of processes including: signaling, metabolism, seed germination, development, sexual reproduction, fruit ripening, and defense. 


About the authors

Dharmendra K. Gupta, a researcher in the areas of environmental biotechnology/radioecology, has published more than 90 refereed research papers/review articles and edited twelve books to date. His particular focus is on environmental pollution remediation through plants.

José Manuel Palma’s research focuses on antioxidants and free radicals in plant systems. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers and articles and edited six books.

Francisco J. Corpas is currently exploring free radicals and nitric oxide in plants. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed research papers and articles and edited six books.
