Fábio obtained his PhD in Physics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil) in 2013, and later was a post-doctoral researcher at Northwestern University (USA) and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (Germany). He has a research background in observational astronomy and instrumentation. Fábio is responsible for a portfolio of Physics and Astronomy journals.
