Volumes in the Environmental Security Sub-Series deal with scientific and technological aspects of innovative and promising projects related to environmental security, including regional environmental problems and natural and man-made disasters. Floods, droughts, landslides, desertification, earthquakes and industrial accidents are examples of topics covered, as are regional environmental problems related to transboundary water resources or transfrontier air pollution. Other areas covered relate to climate change, environmental chemistry, disaster prevention and forecast, remote sensing and detection, and decision support systems/risk assessment.
