Damià Barceló is Full Research Professor at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Studies IDAEA-CSIC and has been Head of the Environmental Chemistry Department (Barcelona, Spain) since 1999 and Director of the Catalan Institute of Water Research (ICRA) (Girona, Spain) since May 2008. His scientific focus is on method development and monitoring of priority, new, and emerging pollutants, in particular in water quality assessment and management. Recognitions include the Spanish Prize King Jaime I for the Protection of the Environment (November 2007), the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) 5th Award 2012 on Water Management & Protection, Saudi Arabia, and the Swedish Recipharm Environmental Award 2012.

Prof. Andrey G. Kostianoy 

Dr. Andrey G. Kostianoy
Andrey G. Kostianoy is a Chief Scientist at the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russian Academy of Sciences, in Moscow, Russia. He is a specialist in physical oceanography and satellite remote sensing. His research has focused on satellite monitoring, oceanography, regional climate change and environmental problems of the Black, Caspian, Aral, and Baltic seas. He is Vice-President of the International Association "Modelenvironment" (Liege University, Belgium), member of the Russian National Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR), Honorary Member of the Environmental Ocean Team (UK/Italy), Chair of the Technical Committee of International Water Technology Association (Egypt), Lead Author in Chapter 3 “Observations: Oceans” in WGI of IPCC AR5. He is a member of the editorial boards of renowned scientific journals focusing on water technology and marine systems and Editor-in-Chief of the Springer book series “The Handbook of Environmental Chemistry”.
