About this book series

The NATO Science Committee established the Programme on Disarmament Technologies in 1993 with the aim of enlisting science and technology in the service of disarmament. To further this objective, the programme seeks to stimulate collaborative research between NATO-member countries and the newly independent states of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, known as Cooperation Partner Countries, on the urgent scientific problems arising from nuclear, chemical, biological and conventional disarmament and non-proliferation efforts.
