About this book series
The future of the village and rural areas in the 21st century is the focal point of a project developed by the Center for Development Research (ZEF) for the EXPO 2000. This project was carried out via a "Global Dialogue", which focusses on the people of all continents living in villages or rural areas. Officials, business leaders, scientists and villagers from different regions were engaged in this dialogue. The problems of rural life and innovative solutions including better linkages between villages and cities were discussed. The results of this dialogue are published in the series "Global Dialogue EXPO 2000".
