About this book series

The Themes in Contemporary Archaeology series provides cutting edge perspectives on key areas of debate in current archaeological enquiry, with a particular emphasis on European archaeology. The series has a broad coverage, encompassing all archaeological periods and all approaches. Examples of topics welcome in the series include, but are not limited to:

• from theoretical debate to archaeological practice
• landscape studies
• bioarchaeology
• issues of cultural heritage

The volumes are based on research presented at the Annual Meetings of the European Association of Archaeologists. They include proceedings of individual sessions, which can be enlarged if necessary to provide coherence for publication. Each volume undergoes a strict peer-review process, ensuring volumes of high quality that capture current debates in the field.
