Call for Proposals

The series accepts proposals for both monographs and edited volumes that will provide an understanding of the GCC member states’ contemporary social, economic, and political landscapes. We strongly encourage manuscripts that draw on primary research in the region. The series covers a wide range of topics within four broad themes, as follows:
Politics and Security in the Gulf:
Gulf defense and security, GCC integration, human rights, democracy, and political reform, Gulf politics and political systems, GCC foreign policy
Energy and Economics in the Gulf:
The political economy of the Gulf, economic diversification, international investments, international trade, knowledge economy, energy security and geopolitics of energy, renewable energy development, environmental regulations, and infrastructure and urban planning
Social Issues in the Gulf:
Demography, international migration, culture and identity, space and place, education, new media, unemployment, youth, family, aging, and sports
The Gulf and the World:
The Gulf and Iran, the Gulf and the Arab world, the Gulf and South Asia, the Gulf and Southeast Asia, the Gulf and East Asia, the Gulf and Africa, and the Gulf and Western powers
