Dietwald Gruehn ist seit 2006 Universitätsprofessor für Landschaftsökologie und Landschaftsplanung an der Fakultät Raumplanung der TU Dortmund. Seit 2010 ist er auch apl.-Professor an der School of Planning, Construction and Design der Michigan State University (USA). Dietwald Gruehn ist Dipl.-Ing. im Fach Landschaftsplanung und wurde 1997 an der TU Berlin zum Dr.-Ing. promoviert. Dort erfolgte auch seine Habilitation im Fach Landschaftsplanung, Naturschutz und Landschaftspflege (2004). Sein Forschungsinteresse umfasst ein breites Spektrum innerhalb der Landschaftts- und Umweltplanung, einschließlich Anpassung an den Klimawandel, Freiraumforschung, Soundscapes, Bewertungsmethoden, Evaluation und empirische Studien.Dietwald Gruehn is a full professor of Landscape Ecology and Landscape Planning at the School of Spatial Planning, TU Dortmund University, Germany (since 2006). Since 2010 he is adjunct professor at the School of Planning, Construction and Design, Michigan State University (USA). Dietwald Gruehn holds a master-equivalent degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in landscape planning from Berlin University of Technology, where he also obtained his PhD (Dr.-Ing.) in 1997 as well as the “venia legendi” (Habilitation) in landscape planning, nature conservation and landscape management in 2004. His research interests comprise a broad range of topics within landscape and environmental planning, including adaptation to climate change, open space research, soundscapes, assessment methods, evaluation, and empirical studies.
