About this book series

This subseries of SpringerBriefs in Earth Sciences focuses on all aspects of mammalian palaeontology and paleobiology. In-depth case studies are especially welcome including reviews of major mammal sites or particular mammal taxa including systematic palaeontology, phylogeny, functional morphology, biostratigraphy, palaeoecology and palaeobiogeography. Other subjects may be considered if the volume theme emphasizes the study of fossil mammals.

SpringerBriefs in Mammalian Palaeontology and Palaeobiology features compact volumes of 50 to 125 pages (approx. 20,000–70,000 words) bridging the gap between review article and full monograph with no costs to authors. Manuscripts to be considered for publication in this series will be peer-reviewed with fast turnaround times and both solicited and unsolicited manuscripts are considered for publication in this series.

Briefs are published as part of Springer’s eBook collection, with millions of users worldwide. In addition, Briefs are available for individual print and electronic purchase. Briefs are characterized by fast, global electronic dissemination, standard publishing contracts, easy-to-use manuscript preparation and formatting guidelines, and expedited production schedules.
