About this book series

The International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction (ICGdR) decided to create a series of books which could help to reduce the overall risk from natural hazards of different origin in concordance with the main strategy and objectives of ICGdR. These are:
  1. Promote geo-disaster reduction for the benefit of human society and the natural environment, and capacity development, including education;
  2. Combine international expertise and coordinate their efforts in geo-disaster reduction, thereby resulting in an effective international organization which will act as a partner in various projects; and
  3. Promote regional and global, multidisciplinary activity on geo-disaster reduction.

The idea is to bring the attention of authors and research teams to the subject of mitigation of natural risks irrespective the detailed topic of hazards or region of occurrence. The International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction in cooperation with Springer Verlag with its broad variety of scientific interests and large international operation is a suitable platform to manage such important mission. The International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction offer to the international scientific community to take the patronage over selected book publications printed in the Springer Verlag regardless the authors are members of ICGdR or non-members. The submitted books will go through the standard editorial process and will be visible labelled by ICGdR. The ICGdR will help to promote these books. We welcome your proposals.
