About the Editor
Amit is a DNA Forensics Professional, Entrepreneur, Engineer, Bioinformatician and an IEEE Volunteer. In 2005 he founded the first Private DNA Testing Company Bio Axis DNA Research Centre (P) Ltd in Hyderabad, India with a US Collaborator. He has vast experience of training 1000+ Crime investigating officers and helped 750+ Criminal and non-criminal cases to reach justice by offering analytical services in his laboratory. His group also works extensively on Genetic Predisposition risk studies of cancers and has been helping many cancer patients from 2012 to fight and win the battle against cancer. Amit was member of IEEE Strategy Development and Environmental Assessment committee (SDEA) of IEEE MGA. He is senior member of IEEE and has been a very active IEEE Volunteer at Section, Council, Region, Technical Societies of Computational Intelligence and Engineering in Medicine and Biology and at IEEE MGA levels in several capacities. He has driven a number of IEEE Conferences, Conference leadership programs, Entrepreneurship development workshops, Innovation and Internship related events. Currently he is the Managing Director of BioAxis DNA Research Centre (P) Ltd and visiting Professor at SJB Research Foundation, IEEE MGA Nominations and Appointments committee member and Chairman of IEEE Hyderabad Section.P. N. Suganthan obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He was a predoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Sydney in 1995–96 and a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Queensland in 1996–99. Since 1999 he has been with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore where he was an Assistant Professor and now is an Associate Professor. He is an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation and Pattern Recognition Journal. His research interests include evolutionary computation, pattern recognition, bioinformatics, biometrics, multiobjective evolutionary algorithms, applications of evolutionary computation and neural networks. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
After studying computer science at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Dr. Haase worked as a database administrator in the aviation sector. However, he was drawn back to the university, where he received his doctorate in the field of automatic load balancing in computer clusters. He then worked as a project manager at the Technical University of Vienna in the field of "Embedded systems with extremely low energy consumption". In this area he worked, among other things, on wireless sensor networks, about which he wrote his habilitation thesis after moving to the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. He then worked at the University of Lübeck in the Institute for Technical Informatics, where he worked in the field of building automation and memristor circuits. He has been part of the NORDAKADEMIE since July 1st, 2020 and mainly covers the new course in technical informatics as well as database systems.
Dr. Haase is very active and networked in the scientific environment. He is the chairman of the German section of the IEEE, chair of the Technical Committee on Building Automation, Control, and Management and a member of the Adcom of the IEEE Industrial Electronic Society. On a national level, he is the spokesman for the APS (Appliances, Personal and Smart End Devices) specialist group of the GI and ITG, as well as a member of the Konrad Zuse Society.
