  • Aims and Scope

    Aims and Scope

This journal is owned by the Spanish Society of Applied Mathematics (SeMA). Its main aim is to publish papers containing high-level achievements in applied mathematics, understood in a broad sense. In this respect, theoretical as well as numerical results, and also their practical applications are welcome.

There are mainly three kinds of papers in this journal: first, papers containing original results (of theoretical and/or numerical nature); then, review papers, where specialists are invited to present their own work (and also others' work) in a pedagogical style; finally, papers directly related to applications in Industry, Finance and other Sciences. In all cases, in order to accept a paper, a lot of attention will be paid in the reviewing process to the quality of the underlying mathematical results and the way they are presented.

In some sense, this is a singular journal in applied mathematics, since it provides information on a very wide variety of mathematical subjects, techniques and results without forgetting the applications that can be found below and taking care of the presentation. In accordance with the objectives of SeMA, the style of the journal is designed to make it useful to all kinds of people concerned by applied mathematics, very especially to young researchers.
All papers will be reviewed by anonymous referees before acceptance.

The author signs for and accepts responsibility for releasing this material on behalf of any and all co-authors. Transfer of copyright to Springer (respective to owner if other than Springer) becomes effective if and when a Copyright Transfer Statement is signed or transferred electronically by the corresponding author. After submission of the Copyright Transfer Statement signed by the corresponding author, changes of authorship or in the order of the authors listed will not be accepted by Springer.

Springer may use the article in whole or in part in electronic form, such as use in databases or data networks for display, print or download to stationary or portable devices. This includes interactive and multimedia use and the right to alter the article to the extent necessary for such use.

An author may self-archive an author-created version of his/her article on his/her own website and/or the repository of Author's department or faculty. Author may also deposit this version on his/her funder's or funder's designated repository at the funder's request or as a result of a legal obligation, provided it is not made publicly available until 12 months after official publication by Springer. He/she may not use the publisher's PDF version, which is posted on www.springerlink.com, for the purpose of self-archiving or deposit. Furthermore, Author may only post his/her own version, provided acknowledgement is given to the original source of publication and a link is inserted to the published article on Springer's website. The link must be accompanied by the following text: "The final publication is available at www.springerlink.com".

Prior versions of the article published on non-commercial pre-print servers like arXiv.org can remain on these servers and/or can be updated with Author's accepted version. The final published version (in pdf or html/xml format) cannot be used for this purpose. Acknowledgement needs to be given to the final publication and a link must be inserted to the published article on Springer's website, accompanied by the text "The final publication is available at springerlink.com". Author retains the right to use his/her article for his/her further scientific career by including the final published journal article in other publications such as dissertations and postdoctoral qualifications provided acknowledgement is given to the original source of publication.
