European Association for Potato Research

The EAPR was established in 1957 and is for all people working, or with an interest, in potato research

The EAPR has the following aims:

L_EAPR Logo_95x99px
  • To promote the exchange of scientific and technical information relating to all facets of potato growing and utilization between individuals, companies and research institutions, worldwide.
  • To encourage and assist international cooperation in this field.

To achieve this they:

  • Have six “Sections”: agronomy, breeding and variety assessment, engineering and utilization, pathology, physiology and virology. The sections meet regularly to discuss scientific problems and technical issues. They set up working groups e.g. to study special problems or standardizing methods of research or terminology.
  • Organize a “Triennial Conference” in a different European country with lectures, posters, workshop sessions and scientific excursions. They offer the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world.
  • Publish with Springer "Potato Research" with scientific contributions of fundamental and applied research, review articles and topics of general interest. The journal also contains Association news and reports and abstracts of section meetings. Subscribe or become a member!
  • Enhance “International cooperation” by continuously exploring opportunities for enhancing cooperation with sister organizations
