Dr. Alexandru CiolanAssociate Editor Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Computing, Intelligent Systems
By heart and training a mathematician specialized in Number Theory, I have recently joined Springer as Associate Editor for Computer Science. Given that numerical experiments have always played an essential role in the verification of my claims and that my research often found applications to cryptography and other computer science areas, the transition was quite natural and easy. Having published several research papers and problem-solving textbooks and having refereed numerous books and articles published in prestigious journals, I know what makes for a good book and I can rightfully assess the content of a manuscript, its scientific value and impact to the community. I am primarily responsible for areas like: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Computing and Intelligent Systems, but I am also very interested, more generally, in any project lying at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. If you have a book idea related to these subjects that you want to submit or discuss, feel free to contact me either by dropping me an email with your proposal or by approaching me at one of the conferences that I plan to attend (for a tentative list, see below).
