About the editors

Berihun Mamo Negash is a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, department of Petroleum Engineering in Malaysia. He completed his BSc. degree in chemical Engineering from Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia and MSc. degree in petroleum engineering, with specialization in reservoir engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Norway. He has taught Chemical Engineering courses at Bahir Dar University for more than 7 years.  At the same time, he was a part-time lecturer of petroleum engineering at Mekelle University for three consecutive years. His PhD study deals with application of system identification for production optimization of a reservoir. Currently, he is researching on application of machine learning to performance prediction of reservoirs that are producing under various mechanisms.

AP Dr. Sonny Irawan is an associate professor at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. He graduated with BSc. in Petroleum Engineering in 1991from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional-Jogyakarta, Indonesia. In 1997 he earned his MSc in petroleum Engineering from ITB-Bandung, Indonesia and PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. During his early years as graduate, he worked as a drilling and production engineer in PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (Now PT Texaco Pacific Indonesia) for four years. His research interests are in the area of drilling and drilling fluid technology, formation damage and alternative energy (geothermal and coal bed methane).

Dr. Ir. Taufan Marhaendrajana, M.Sc. teaches at Petroleum Engineering (PE) Department Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) since 2003. He received his bachelor degree from PE Department ITB in 1991. His Master and PhD degree were obtained from Texas A&M University in 1995 and 2000. He worked at WSV Schlumberger as Senior Reservoir Engineer from year 2000 to 2002. He teaches various courses for bachelor and master degree program such as production logging, reservoir fluids, and introduction on partial differential problem for Petroleum Engineering. His research interest mainly (not limited to) on enhanced oil recovery using chemical surfactant injection.

Professor Dr. Ir. Hasian P. Septoratno Siregar, DEA teaches at Petroleum Engineering (PE) Department Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) since 1981. He received his bachelor degree from PE Department ITB in 1975. His Master and PhD degree were obtained from Petroleum Engineering University of Paul Sabatier (France) and University of Bordeaux I (France) in 1978 and 1980. Currently, Professor Septo is ahead of two research consortium: Optimization of Pipeline Network (OPPINET) and Oil and Gas Recovery for Indonesia (OGRINDO). He teaches various courses for bachelor and master degree program such as optimization in oil and gas industry and enhanced oil recovery.

Professor Dr. Ir. Sudjati Rachmat, DEA teaches at Petroleum Engineering(PE) Department Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) since 1979. He received his bachelor degree from PE Department ITB in 1975. His Master and PhD degree were obtained from Universite Claude Bernard-Lyon (France) in 1985 and 1987. He experienced in leading more than 20 research activities in oil and gas area. He teaches various courses such as: artificial intelligence for Petroleum Engineering and Well Stimulation.

Luky Hendraningrat, M.Sc., Ph.D. holds bachelor degree from PE Department ITB in 2005. His Master and PhD degree were obtained from Petroleum Engineering Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU - Norway) in 2010 and 2014. He worked for various oil and gas company since 2005 to 2016. Currently, he works at Auroris Management Group as Principal Reservoir Engineer (EOR specialist). He published many papers related nanotechnology to improve oil production.

Dr. Andi Setyo Wibowo, MT, ST. holds doctoral degree from PE Department ITB in 2015. He works at Center for Oil and Gas Technology Research and Development (LEMIGAS) since 2006. Currently, he is the leader of production engineering team at LEMIGAS. He has strong interest in reservoir evaluation (Petrophysics and Core analysis).
