Acta Mechanica - Call for Papers - Special Issue on Interaction of solid particles with fluid, solid and viscoelastic interfaces (on invitation only)

The Special Issue will be focused on particle-laden fluid interfaces systems in both laminar and turbulent flow. Systems in which the dispersed phase ranges from chemically homogeneous particles to active colloids will be considered. Contributions are sought to discuss, among the other topics, the mechanisms guiding the trapping of the particles to the fluid interface , the dynamics of particles confined at fluid interfaces (possibly including actuated and active particles), inter-particle interactions operating between particles and how they control assembly and properties of particle-laden interfaces or the properties of particle-laden interface and how these can be modulated to allow for their technological exploitation. Contributions addressing the role of particles in the morphological patterns and interface stability of granular mixtures will also be welcome.
Submissions will undergo the standard peer review process adequate for original papers, which should have size, quality and originality appropriate to an archival scientific Journal.
The Guest Editors of the Special Issue will receive the papers and conduct the review process. Once the review process is completed, the final decision on publication will be made by the Managing Editor, who will ensure that all manuscripts published in Acta Mechanica meet Aims and Scope of the Journal and are of sufficient quality.
