Special issue on Advances in Information and Knowledge Engineering in a Connected World

SOFSEM Conference consists of three tracks covering major subareas of current computer science: the traditional track on Foundations of Computer Science and two tracks devoted to leading developments in areas – Software Engineering: Methods, Tools, Applications, and Data, Information and Knowledge Engineering. Original contributions are solicited, presenting new research results in the theory and practice of computer science in each subarea designated for SOFSEM. Our special issue is related to the Data, Information and Knowledge Engineering Track. It aims at covering all aspects of eliciting, acquiring, modeling, storing, and managing data, information, and knowledge with a special focus on the connected world that includes social networks, sensors, etc. Contributions concerning all steps in the development of data and knowledge-intensive systems – theoretical foundations, design, implementation and maintenance techniques – are welcome.

Important Dates (Tentative):
February 28, 2021: Full article submission
April 11, 2021: First round notification (minor/major revision)
May 21, 2021: Submission of revised manuscript
Authors of selected papers are invited to submit an extended version with at least 30% difference in technical content. Every submission will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, using the same review process and standard for the Computing Journal regular submissions. The Editor-in-Chief, along with the guest editors, will make the final decision to accept or decline a submission based on the reviews.
All submitted manuscripts must be formatted according to Computing's instructions for authors which are available at https://www.springer.com/journal/607/submission-guidelines. We will only accept LaTeX manuscripts which must use Springer templates.
Manuscript length: Please note that the page limit for Special Issue submissions differs from that of regular Computing submissions. Manuscripts submitted to the Special Issue should not exceed 19 pages. Submissions that do not comply with this requirement are likely to be desk rejected without being reviewed.
