Acta Diabetologica - Diabetic Nephropathy: a topical collection

Editor: Giuseppe Pugliese

The Topical Collection on Diabetic Nephropathy aims at collecting papers dealing with all aspects of this frightening complication of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, including epidemiology, pathophysiology, natural history, prediction, prevention, and treatment. In particular, this Collection seeks to focus on the most novel facets of this rapidly changing complication, with a special reference to clinical phenotypes of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), trends in morbidity and mortality associated with loss of renal function in diabetic individuals, search for novel biomarkers for prediction of DKD onset and progression, and emerging tools for DKD prevention and treatment, including the new anti-hyperglycaemic agents.
