Aims and scope

Discover Global Society is an interdisciplinary journal that welcomes research on the complexities of modern global society, its development and its challenges. While open to a variety of perspectives, the journal encourages scholarship that examines the impact of globalization, neoliberalism and growing internationalism on different aspects of societies and its challenges in different regions and regimes. Further research that examines the intersection of social, political and economic aspects in relation to growing societal concerns in intercultural communities and society are also encouraged. The journal is open to different methodological and theoretical approaches and seeks to publish articles that appeal to a wide readership, including policy makers and practitioners, and particularly welcomes work that contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of no poverty, gender equality, and strong institutions.

Discover Global Society covers topics including (but not limited to) social problems, social change, social issues, complexities of modern and globalized societies, movements of people, global infrastructure, sustainability, urbanization, global governance and issues related to governance, public policy, social policy and welfare, labor market/labor economics, social security, globalization, culture, inequality, poverty and discrimination, gender, family studies and violence, nationalism, religion, ethnicity, migration, terrorism and criminal activities, genocides, health, and environmental degradation, youth and adolescent issues, disability, community development, social development, social policy and social work, third sector (voluntary and nonprofit organizations), aspects of law in relation to society.
 

Content Types

Discover Global Society welcomes full-length Research articles as well as Brief Communications of empirical findings, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Case Studies, Registered Reports, and Data Notes from all areas of social sciences and related inter- and trans-disciplinary studies where the work has a global perspective. The journal also publishes guest-edited Topical Collections of relevance to all aspects of research into our global society.
