Stefania Bruschi

New Content ItemStefania Bruschi (this opens in a new tab), PhD, is professor of professor of Manufacturing Technologies at the Department of Industrial Engineering at University of Padova, Italy, and currently Head of the same department. She is member of Academic Senate at University of Padova. Her major research areas include sheet and bulk metal forming and machining of metal alloys, with particular focus on material behavior, process and product performances. The research activities have been carried out in the framework of EU and Italian funded projects, and research contracts with Italian and European manufacturing companies. She is a fellow of CIRP (The International Academy for Production Engineering), and currently Secretary of the CIRP Scientific Technical Committee “Forming”. She is co-author of more than 270 Scopus-indexed publications. 

Maria de Fátima Reis Vaz (MFV)

New Content ItemMFV (this opens in a new tab) obtained her undergraduate Degree in Metallurgical Engineering (1985) at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, Lisboa, Portugal, having concluded her PhD., in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (1994, Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, Lisboa). In 2014 she obtained her Habilitation in Materials Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Lisboa. Since 2015, she is Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Mechanical Engineering Department of IST, at the scientific area of Mechanical Design and Engineering Materials. MFV is researcher of the Mechanical Engineering Institute (IDMEC), of Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics (LAETA) since 2015, where she is member of the Steering Committee of LAETA and Coordinator of the Materials & Manufacturing Processes Research Group. MFV is alsoAdjunct Coordinator of the Scientific Area of Mechanical Design and Materials in Engineering of the Mechanical Engineering Department, IST, Coordinator at IST of the Doctoral Program in Advanced Materials and Processing (AdvaMTech) and member of the Admission and Qualification Council of Materials Engineering of Ordem dos Engenheiros.

MFVaz carried out studies on several domains, such as, the mechanical behaviour of soft and hard biological tissues, including bone, cellular materials including liquid and ceramic foams, characterization of biomedical devices, biobased and biodegradable materials used in food packaging, modelling of cellular structures, characterization of materials applied to cultural heritage. At present her main interests are:

-             Design, mechanical properties modelling and additive manufacturing of cellular metamaterials.

-             Functionally graded and bioinspired materials.

-             Structural and mechanical characterization of biomedical devices.

-             Structural and mechanical characterization of materials.

She is the co-author of more than 120 articles in international journals and conferences, has participated in research projects, supervised several Masters and PhD students and is the co-author of three patents.

Ana María Camacho

New Content ItemAna María Camacho (this opens in a new tab) is a Full Professor at the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering of the UNED, Spain. She received her MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in 2001 and the PhD in Industrial Engineering from UNED in 2005. “Extraordinary Doctorate Award” of the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of UNED and “Best Master Thesis” given by COIIM.

Her research lines include the “Analysis and simulation of metal forming processes by numerical and experimental techniques”, the “Optimization of additive manufacturing technologies” and the “Development of materials selection methodologies for the manufacturing of components for high demanding applications”.

She has held various management positions at the University including Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Quality and nowadays she is the Department Chair of the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering of the UNED since November of 2021.

Author of more than 150 research articles in journals and conference proceedings, she has been involved in different research projects, most of them funded by the Spanish Ministry responsible for research. She realized an international research stay at the “Institute of Metal Forming” of the RWTH Aachen University. Research Prize for UNED young researchers 2010, given by Banco Santander and assessed by the National Agency for Assessment and Forecasting (ANEP). She also develops evaluation activities of Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation projects for ANEP since 2010 and she is a regular referee of 16 JCR journals and member of the Scientific Committee of International Conferences such as the Manufacturing Engineering Society International Conference and the Casablanca International Conference on Additive Manufacturing.
