International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing - Call for Applications: Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing

About the Role

We are seeking an Editor in Chief for International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (this opens in a new tab) (IJNDC). Ideal candidate is expected to have:

  1. Vision to build on the success of IJNDC and a proactive approach to develop the journal.
  2. Strong academic credentials in networked and distributed computing with previous editorial experience, and an established network of research contacts.
  3. Ability to motivate and support the Editorial Board, and advocate for IJNDC among the scientific community.
  4. An awareness of trends within the discipline, and an openness to new ideas and initiatives.
  5. Commitment to support diversity, equity and inclusion for the journal.

Key Responsibilities

  • To set up journal development goals and strategy, as well as journal aims&scope, and article types, together with journal publisher
  • To support and manage the Editorial Board, and appoint new Editors when required, aiming to ensure this is broadly representative of the journals’ scope and submissions, inclusive and diverse
  • To oversee and ultimately be responsible for decisions of submission accept and reject, overseeing the peer review process in collaboration with the Editorial Board and Editorial Office
  • To maintain high-quality editorial policy and standards, and ensure the integrity of research published
  • To oversee and expand the commissioning of content and generally to encourage high-quality submissions
  • To be ultimately responsible for the journal related ethical issues and queries/concerns from authors, with guidance and support provided by the Publisher and in line with COPE and other relevant guidelines 

About IJNDC

The International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (IJNDC) is an international peer reviewed open access journal that publishes articles on both theory and practice which address foundations, crucial challenges, state-of-the-art solutions and implications on all aspects of networked and distributed computing. IJNDC has been indexed in key indexers including ESCI-Clarivate, Scopus, DOAJ, etc.
