Call for Papers: Novel Analytical Approaches towards SDGs
Since sustainable development goals (SDGs) were adopted in 2015 in Paris as “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” not only many countries, but also various organizations such as local governments, companies, and schools have been planning and practicing the actions on SDGs.
Among 17 goals of SDGs, there are seven scientific fields of analytical sciences which are able to contribute to the goals: No. 3: Good health and well-being, No. 6: Clear water and sanitation, No. 7: Affordable and clean energy, No. 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, No. 13: Climate action, No. 14: Life below water, and No. 15: Life on land.
Here, we decided in March 2022 to publish a special issue entitled ”Novel Analytical Approaches towards SDGs.” In this special issue, novel analytical studies contributing to SDGs will be envisioned. Developments of analytical methods will contribute to SDGs by innovations in Goal 9. Analysis targets of biomedical substances are related with Goal 3. Simple assays will save energy and resources in Goal 7. Environmental analysis will maintain clean water in Goal 6 and ecosystems Goals 13, 14 and 15. Additionally, every goal is not independent but closely linked. We hope that this special issue will be a good opportunity for readers to consider SDGs again.
