Aims and scope

Discover Mental Health is a fully open access journal that publishes research across the transdisciplinary field of mental health research. The journal welcomes work in theoretical and fundamental sciences, as well as clinical sciences and public health and health services research. The journal will consider work covering the full range of socioeconomic, biological and environmental factors related to the broad field of mental health research.

Discover Mental Health is an open access journal that supports the pre-registration of studies and access to research data.    

Topics

Discover Mental Health will publish mental health research that covers topics including, but not limited to, the following:

Cell biology, molecular biology, genetics and genomics, pathophysiology, neuroimaging, neurobiology, psychopharmacology, clinical science pertaining to psychiatry, clinical psychology and wider mental health aspects (including prevention, assessment and diagnosis, prognosis, interventions and treatments as well as the interface of mental health and physical health or disease), public health and health services research that looks at mental health intervention and management, epidemiology, and all forms of translational mental health studies covering fundamental research to global health.

Content Types

Discover Mental Health welcomes full-length Research articles as well as Brief Communications of empirical findings, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Case Studies, Case Reports, Registered Reports, and Data Notes from across the full range of disciplines concerned with both social science and biomedicine.
