  • Call For Papers: Tensor Methods

Research in tensor (multidimensional array) analysis is accelerating, driven by the increasing complexity of data sets, arising from fields such as biomedical engineering, networks, and the physical and social sciences, which naturally lend themselves to a tensor structure. Tensor factorization methods in particular have been shown to aid in low-dimensional embedding and clustering, data compression, denoising, and imputation.  We invite submission of research, survey, and review articles on novel theoretical, computational, and real-world application progress in tensor analysis.

    Submission deadline: 1 June 2024
Guest Editors: Dr. Jamie Haddock, Harvey Mudd College (USA); Dr. Anna Konstorum, Center for Computing Sciences, Institute for Defense Analyses (USA) and University of Florida (USA); Dr. Anna Ma, UC Irvine (USA)

  • Call For Papers: Mathematical Modeling of the Eye

This topical collection aims to bring together works focused on mathematical modeling of the eye with the shared goal of improving ocular health and ophthalmic treatments. Ocular health determines our quality of life as our eyes provide much of the information we receive about the world. We welcome contributions in which mathematical models, empirical to mechanistic, are used to develop new and significant understanding of ocular health and treatments. Submitted works should have a high level of originality and quality.

    Submission Deadline: 1 February 2024

Guest Editors: Lucia Carichino, Rochester Institute of Technology (USA); Kara Maki, Rochester Institute of Technology (USA)

  • Call for Papers: Mathematical Aspects of Cryptography and Coding Theory

This collection welcomes research articles in the field of Mathematical Aspects of Cryptography and Coding Theory, broadly defined. This can be both theoretical results as well as applied. Submitted works should have a high level of originality and quality, providing significant contribution to the creation of new knowledge.  We also welcome high quality survey papers. Submissions from all members of the broader Mathematical Aspects of Cryptography and Coding Theory research community are welcome.

Submission Deadline: September 1, 2023 for the first issue (and open-ended after that date)

Guest Editors: Delaram Kahrobaei, The City University of New York (USA); Matluba Khodjaeva, The City University of New York (USA)

  • Call for Papers: Collection of the first scientific contributions of young mathematicians

This special issue will include selected quality full papers from the International Conference on Bringing Young Mathematicians Together (this opens in a new tab) (BYMAT2022), held online from 9 to 11 November 2022 and organized by the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València. The BYMAT Conference aims to provide a warm and open space for researchers in the early stages of their scientific careers to present their work. We believe that the La Matematica is one of the most appropriate journals to publish research works, since it is an interdisciplinary journal that involves many areas, as well as our congress participants.

    Submission Deadline: 1st September 2023

Guest Editors: Clara Burgos Simón, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain; Juan Carlos Cortés López, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain; Alberto Espuny Díaz, Technische Universität Ilmenau, Germany; Elena López Navarro, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain; Ana Navarro Quiles, Universitat de València, Spain.

  • Call for Papers: Advances in Applied and Computational Topology

This collection welcomes research articles in the field of applied and computational topology, broadly defined. This can be both theoretical results as well as novel use of the topological techniques in applied settings. Submitted works should have a high level of originality and quality, providing significant contribution to the creation of new knowledge.  We especially welcome papers emerging from working groups and collaborations that begin at events sponsored by the AWM research network “Women in Computational Topology” (WinCompTop). However, submissions from all members of the broader applied and computational topology research community are welcome.

Submission Deadline: 1 May 2023 for the first issue (and open-ended after that date)

Guest Editors: Brittany Terese Fasy, Montana State University (USA); Elizabeth Munch, Michigan State University (USA); Katharine Turner, Australian National University (Australia); Lori Ziegelmeier, Macalester College (USA)

  • Call for Papers: Advances in Graph Theory and Applications

This collection is open to research articles in all areas of graph theory and its applications to other fields. Topics of special interest are those related to the research fields of members of the AWM network “Women in Graph Theory and Applications” (WiGA), which include graph searching, graph symmetry, coding theory, metric dimension, reconfiguration problems and Hamiltonicity. However, submissions in all topics of graph theory and applications will receive the same consideration and they will be accepted for publication on the basis of their significance and quality, regardless of the topic.

Submission Deadline: September 1, 2023, then rolling

Guest Editors: Daniela Ferrero, Texas State University, San Marcos, USA; Leslie Hogben, Iowa State University, Ames, USA and American Institute of Mathematics, San Jose, USA; Christine Kelley, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, USA

  • Call for Papers: Advances in Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing

This topical collection aims to showcase recent advances in the field of numerical analysis and scientific computing. It will cover a wide spectrum of research topics including, but not limited to, mathematical modeling, numerical algorithm design, analysis, and implementation. It will also feature research articles that are of interdisciplinary nature, such as the interplay between ODE/PDE theory and numerics,
