New Content ItemDr. Sang Yup Lee, Distinguished Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea

"Chemical Engineering covers broad and truly multidisciplinary fields encompassing fundamental sciences and engineering principles. It is THE most important discipline for successfully designing chemical, biological and materials products and developing processes for their efficient production. The core principles of chemical engineering, including thermodynamics, material and energy balances, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process design and control, and unit operations, remain essential for developing products and processes, while new expertise such as data science, machine learning, nanotechnology, and systems and synthetic biology are being rapidly integrated. Furthermore, sustainability, circular economy, and good health have become key values of chemical engineering. Discover Chemical Engineering will serve as a platform to highlight such exciting research of yours in all areas of chemical engineering, including reaction engineering, transport phenomena, separation and purification processes, process design and optimization, plant design, control and management, biochemical engineering, sustainable processes, and other interdisciplinary topics. It is time for you to DISCOVER “new” Chemical Engineering!"
