Aims and scope

Discover Chemical Engineering is part of the Discover journal series committed to providing a streamlined submission process, rapid review and publication, and a high level of author service at every stage. It is a broad, open access journal publishing research from across all fields relevant to chemical engineering, providing cutting-edge research findings to researchers, academicians, students, and engineers.

It considers all articles in the field of chemical engineering, including research on fundamental concepts, new developments and the application of chemical engineering principles to a broad range of industries. It provides an inclusive platform for the dissemination and discussion of chemical engineering research to aid the advancement of chemical, biological and materials processing.

Topics

Discover Chemical Engineering covers topics in eight main areas:

  • Process design, optimization and intensification
  • Reaction engineering and catalysis
  • Transport phenomena
  • Separation and purification processes
  • Plant design, management and control
  • Sustainable chemical and biochemical processes
  • Thermodynamics
  • Biochemical, pharmaceutical and food Engineering

Content Types

Discover Chemical Engineering welcomes Research, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Brief Communications, Case Studies, Registered Reports, and Data Notes from across the full range of disciplines concerned with chemical engineering. The journal also publishes guest edited Topical Collections of relevance to all aspects of chemical engineering to allow readers to quickly identify research on subject areas of especial interest to them. For more information, please follow up with our journal publishing contact.

In addition to specific themed Collections reflecting the latest developments in chemical engineering, the Journal focuses on three types of contributions: forward looking and/or speculative pieces that may be opinionated but should remain balanced and are intended to stimulate discussion and explore new approaches, rapid publication of early research results, and case studies/examples of how novel research has been followed through to implementation.
