About the Editor-in-Chief
Prof. Stefan Hohmann, University of Göteborg, Sweden, was born 1956 in Darmstadt, Germany, where he studied microbiology and genetics. Following his PhD he worked as project leader in Leuven, Belgium, and as visiting professor in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Since 1996 he is group leader and since 2001 professor in molecular microbial physiology at Göteborg University. Present research is driven by a team of about 15 scientists and covers regulatory processes in signal transduction and metabolism. In addition Stefan engages in developing Systems Biology. Stefan has published more than 80 research papers and more than 30 reviews and other publications. He presently coordinates five EC projects and is chief editor of the journals "Molecular Genetics and Genomics" and "Current Genetics" and of the book series "Topics in Current Genetics".
