Circular Economy and Sustainability - Special Issue by invitation only: Socio-Environmental Footprints in Energy, Materials, Waste and International Justice

The transition from a linear to a circular economy requires a holistic understanding of the long-term sustainability implications associated with the new patterns being implemented. In this context, it is essential to understand the not only the environmental footprints related to different products and services, but also the social impacts. Therefore, this Special Issue aims to disseminate knowledge and generate further analysis. Taking into account the global impacts that the current economic model generates both at the social level (especially in terms of health and gender) and at the environmental level. A particular attention will be given to four thematic areas including energy systems, sustainable materials, waste management and international Justice in footprint responsibility. This Special Issue will also address the uneven impacts that current production system impose on both enriched and impoverished nations.

This Special Issue will host selected papers presented at the International Conference on Socio-Environmental Footprints conference to be held in Vitoria-Gazteiz in 13-14 June 2024.
