MRS Energy & Sustainability

Science, Technology, Socioeconomics & Policy

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

MRS Energy & Sustainability publishes review articles, original research articles, comments, perspectives and analysis from across the full range of disciplines concerned with energy and sustainability.

The journal focuses on new research and development of both established and new areas; interdisciplinary systems integration; and objective application of economic, sociological and governmental models, enabling research and technological developments.

MRS Energy & Sustainability covers topics related to materials and their devices ranging from energy generation (solar, wind and nuclear), energy storage (batteries, biofuels, solar-fuels, supercapacitors) and new forms of energy distribution and usage enabled by these new materials (such as future electronics, neuromorphic devices, sensors, etc.), and the circular economy associated with these new technologies. Other materials-related topics include electrocatalysis and photocatalysis, materials for carbon capture and storage, as well as new computational and data driven new materials discovery and prediction.

As the journal for energy materials research that showcases the convergent research among science, technology, economics and policy, we encourage relevant comments, analysis and perspectives on energy economics, related policy, and life cycle analysis (LCA) of new energy materials and systems.

The readership is a broad spectrum of scientists, academics, policy makers and industry professionals, all interested in the interdisciplinary nature of the science, technology and policy aspects of energy and sustainability.
