This JMR Focus Issue will feature experimental advances and theoretical developments in the field of ultrawide-bandgap semiconductors, devices, and systems.
Focus Issue: Early Career Scholars in Materials Science 2022
Submission Deadline: June 1, 2021
The Seventh Annual JMR Issue to promote outstanding research by future leaders in materials science JMR invites research and review articles by materials researchers who have completed their Ph.D. but have not yet been appointed as full professor, or equivalent position in non-academic organizations, at the time of submission, for peer review and publication in this special issue. The Annual Issue provides a unique opportunity to be highlighted and promoted early in one’s research career. To increase attention, the issue will be published on an open access basis.
Focus Issue: 3D-Printed Electrodes for Energy Storage
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2021
This JMR Focus Issue will present a broad range of topics covering the fabrication, characterization, and applications of 3D-printed materials for energy storage. These applications include but are not limited to lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, magnesium-ion batteries, zinc-ion batteries, metal batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, solid-state batteries, supercapacitors, lithiumion capacitors, micro-energy storage systems, et al. Both original research articles, and reviews, focused on the demonstrated use of 3D printing tools to fabricate novel electrode materials and electrolytes for these different types of energy storage devices will be considered.
Focus Issue: In-Situ Study of Materials Transformation
Submission Deadline: November 1, 2021
This JMR Focus Issue will include topics about in situ/operando studies of materials transformation at length scales ranging from atomic to macroscopic sizes, as well as the innovation and application of creative techniques on the study of phase transitions, materials growth, energy transfer, and structural and composition evolution in operando.
Focus Issue: Transition Metal-based Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion
Submission Deadline: December 1, 2021
This JMR Focus Issue will present a broad range of topics covering the novel design, fabrication, catalytic mechanism, and applications performance of TMNs for energy storage and conversion. These applications include but are not limited to electrochemical supercapacitors (ECs), batteries, water splitting and fuel cells (FCs), and others. Original high-quality research articles and reviews focused on the synthesis of TMNs and their applications on energy conversion and storage will be considered.
