Sedimentary Basin Evolution in the Taurus Range: In commemoration of Wojciech Nemec (1950-2023)
This special issue is open to submissions concerning Sedimentary Basin Evolution in the Taurus Range from Early Palaeozoic to Recent. The Taurus Range exposes a wide variety of sedimentary basin types, including those influenced by compressional, extensional, and/or strike-slip tectonics (e.g., rifts, foreland basins, thrust-related piggy-back basins, basins related to surface uplift). Depositional settings range from deep marine to shallow-marine to terrestrial, as illustrated by a wide range of facies (e.g., terrigenous sediments, carbonates, volcaniclastic sediments, and evaporites). Facies are commonly very well exposed and include world-class outcrops.
