Objective

The aim of Journal of Global Business and Competitiveness (JGBC) special issue is to understand the potentials of operations and supply chains and define newer frameworks and approaches to revive operations and supply chains in post-COVID-19 times. The special issue is expected to delineate the ways to compete through lean, agile, flexible and resilient operations and supply chains to revive international competitiveness. Understanding the potential of operations and supply chains to compete in a post-pandemic business scenario is vital considering following specific reasons:

- Increasing burden on international operations for the recovery of business loss

- Sharp decline in market demands due to the severe impact on individual earnings

- Changing shop floor work-systems with limited human-human interactions, financial and logistics sanctions

-Interrupted and inconsistent supplies due to supply chain and logistics disruptions

- Disruptions in distributed manufacturing due to changing government trade-policies

- Leverage synergy between informal and formal sectors to achieve operational excellence

The special issue of JGBC aims to attract world-leading academicians to ponder on: How operations can be the source of competitive advantage in post-pandemic business landscapes? Further, the issue seeks to evolve new approaches for increasing leanness, agility, and resilience of post-pandemic operations and supply chains.
