The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (this opens in a new tab), established on July 9th, 1947, The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (this opens in a new tab)is a nonprofit organization for the development and distribution of science and technologies in electrical engineering and related fields. In order to lead the advancement of scientific technologies, as well as information and knowledge industries, 13,000 members, including university professors, graduate students, research institutes and engineers from related industries, have all joined KIEE. In addition, approximately 200 organizations and groups including Korea Electric Power Corporation and leading domestic heavy industry and construction enterprises, and engineering, electronics, information technology, communication industries as well as government-run research institutes, universities, research centers of private enterprises, university libraries. etc., have joined KIEE as Collective members.

Since its establishment, KIEE has become the largest academic society in Korea among nearly 380 societies that are affiliated to "The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies·, a association related to natural sciences, engineering, medical sciences. etc., in terms of membership numbers, annual budget size, scale of various scientific conferences, etc.

From now on, as a leading academic society, KIEE will concentrate all its efforts on continuing to play a leading role in the development of advanced scientific technologies with great pride in its contributions to the development of scientific technologies and national industrial economy in Korea.
