Virchows Archiv - Neuroendocrine Neoplasms Review Series: Online Collection

In this Mini-Review collection, Guest Edited by Professor Irene Esposito, we highlight a timely subject which continues to grow in importance. We think it is imperative for the readers of Virchows Archiv to be kept up-to-date on the developments of concepts and diagnostic criteria for neuroendocrine neoplasms across different organs.

Neuroendocrine neoplasms are ubiquitous in almost all body organs and are morphologically and biologically very heterogeneous. New classifications integrating morphological and molecular data have been developed, but numerous open issues and controversies remain.
